Kings: A David and Saul Epic

4. A Keen Eye

OSV Podcasts Episode 4

Episode 4: When the Philistines send the giant Goliath to challenge any willing Israelite soldier to one-on-one combat, the only one with courage enough to accept the challenge is a plucky, lyre-playing shepherd.

Story Synopsis: After years of warring factions and corruption of the priests and prophets, the Israelites demand that God give them a king. Despite the warning of the prophet Samuel, King Saul is anointed. While Saul is a great warrior and leader, God is angered when he unlawfully offers a sacrifice and disobeys divine instruction. Learning that the kingdom will be taken from him, Saul becomes increasingly paranoid. As Saul slips into madness a future king begins to rise, one who is arguably the greatest king the world has ever seen: King David.
